Few health professionals receive adequate training in the prevention and management of obesity, yet nearly 40 percent of U.S. adults have obesity. We seek to change both of those facts. Through training and education using the first-ever education competencies in obesity prevention and management, clinical and community providers – from physicians and nurses to social workers, dentists and pharmacists – can become an essential part of the solution.
